What is a Yue Log? How is Yule Celebrated?

Burning yule logs is a tradition that goes beyond just a simple “log” – it’s a symbol of warmth, family, and holiday cheer. In the past, families would use a whole tree and carefully place the wider end of the trunk into the fireplace. As the 12 days of Christmas went by, the tree would be slowly moved further into the fire, allowing the yule log to continue burning and spreading its cozy glow. This special process would start on Christmas Day and continue until January 5, also known as Twelfth Night.
