Engage your students in thought-provoking discussions and fun exercises in this books and reading edition of 'Would You Rather...?'

Celebrate Book Week 2023 with a Would You Rather…? Game!

Would you rather…

Read outside or read in a library?

Be an author or be an illustrator?

Read about unicorns or read about dragons?

These are just a tiny sample of the ‘Would You Rather…?’ decisions that your students will need to make when playing this fun movement game! This whole-class activity encourages students to express their preferences around reading and books in a fun and engaging way.

How to Play This Would You Rather…? Game

Playing is easy! Just follow the simple steps below!

  1. Project the slides into your interactive whiteboard.
  2. Provide the students with a recording sheet. Alternatively, provide students with mini whiteboards and whiteboard markers for recording their responses. For a paperless option, have students will move to the left or right side of the room to indicate their answers.
  3. Present each ‘Would You Rather…?’ question in turn. Students will be presented with two choices. Have students indicate their answers via your preferred method.
  4. After a series of questions, an active participation prompt will appear. This requires them to complete a different movement or exercise for one minute.
