Read & Review Compound Words in Small-Groups

Let’s hear it for small-group Reading instruction! If you’ve been in the primary classroom for any number of years, you know there’s nothing quite as effective at building fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary as small-group instruction. Why is small group instruction so great for growing readers? Here are a few reasons why we love it!

  • In small groups, you can provide more personalised attention to each student. You can modify instruction to individual learning styles, needs, and abilities.
  • Students tend to be more engaged in small group settings because they feel more comfortable participating and sharing their ideas, improving retention and literacy skills.
  • Collaborative learning is easier in small groups, where students can work together to solve problems, discuss reading materials, and share insights.
